The life of a Christian can be an adventurous one! I mean, think about it; God frees you from
spiritual bondage through the forgiveness of sin and the indwelling of His Holy Spirit. From the
joy He instills to the peace He brings, it is an amazing encounter. Unfortunately, in the midst of
this life of freedom, the Bible teaches that we have an adversary who seeks to destroy and ruin
our life in Christ. The good news is that we do not have to allow him to do it. Christ has already
promised us the victory over all the efforts of the enemy. Jesus says in St. John 10:10, “The thief
cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and
that they might have it more abundantly.” Even though victory is guaranteed through Christ, we
still have to fight. He never said we would sit on the sidelines and not participate, but when these
trials get hard we must persevere until He brings us out.
The road to victory is not always simple, but it is sure; ask, seek, and knock. Matthew 7:7 says,
“Ask and it shall be given you: seek, and ye shall find: knock and it shall be opened unto you,”
and therein lies the formula. First we ask God for what we need whether it be spiritual, financial,
or physical. I John 5:14 says “And this is the confidence we have in Him, that if we ask anything
according to His will He heareth us.” Secondly, we seek God for the necessary moves to make
towards our deliverance. Proverbs 8:17 says “…and those that seek me early shall find me.”
Lastly, we follow the directions He has given us. In Matthew 7:8, it says “…to him that knocketh
it shall be opened.” The formula is laid out, and if we follow it, the solution will lead to victory.
Dear Lord, thank you for setting me free from the bondage of sin. As I endeavor to serve you and
strive for your will for my life, I pray that you will continue to guide me into all truths. I will
fight, seek, and follow you in all that I do for I know it is only in you that I will be victorious.
Thank you for the formula. All the glory, honor, and praise to you forever. In Jesus’ name, amen
