Welcome to Full Gospel Holy Temple

SINCE 1961

We've Come This Far By Faith

From an obscure and humble beginning in a renovated barbecue café in South Dallas, Full Gospel Holy Temple has pilgrimaged to its present location and spiritual status under the valiant and astute leadership of our late Founder, The Most Honorable Apostle Lobias Murray. The church was established in June 1961 with only six members. A remnant of those six remain today as faithful charter members.

Due to an increasing membership, Full Gospel Holy Temple has relocated four times in its over 60-year history — from Second Avenue, to East Ninth Street, to Fordham Road, to the opulent domed sanctuary on South Ewing Avenue, and finally to our present headquarters at 39727 LBJ Freeway in Dallas, TX in 2002.

In 1979, Lobias Murray Christian Academy opened its doors as the first African-American owned, fully accredited K-12th grade private school in Dallas, Texas. That same year, the Shirley Murray Child Development Center began serving children ages 2 through Kindergarten.

The FGHT ministry seeks to reach people in all segments of society through outreach ministries including the “Broadcast of Deliverance” (radio and television), the bi-monthly “Gospel Truth” magazine, the “Helping Hand” food and clothing ministry, jail ministry, street ministries, and the 111-acre L&S Christian Camp in Scottsville, TX.

In 2011, following the homegoing of our founder, Bishop Herman Murray was appointed Presiding Bishop and Overseer — and continues to lead this ministry to heights unknown. Today, with an active membership of over 2,500 and steadily growing, God’s Word remains at the forefront of the FGHT ministry. With God’s help and guidance, “We’ve Come This Far By Faith.”
