Apostle Lobias Murray & Dr. Shirley Murray

The late Apostle Lobias Murray (1927–2011) founded Full Gospel Holy Temple in 1961 with only six members, in a renovated barbecue café in South Dallas. As a pastor in Dallas for 50 years, he preached an authentic, deliverance-centered gospel and built the ministry into an incorporated body of fellowship churches across seven states. He also founded the Lobias Murray Christian Academy and the Shirley Murray Child Development Center.

Dr. Shirley Murray, Founding First Lady, brought radiance, wisdom, and grace to the ministry. A woman of impeccable integrity, her calling extended far beyond the pulpit — she was widely recognized for her compassion toward the homeless and underprivileged through the Helping Hand Outreach Ministry, which she co-founded in 1981.

Together, the Murrays built a legacy of faith, education, and humanitarian service that continues today under the leadership of their grandson, Apostle Herman L. Murray, Jr.
