You ever notice how God’s timing rarely fits our own? I can’t count the number of times I’ve prayed, “Lord, why hasn’t it happened yet?” I remember one morning, sitting with my Bible open and my heart heavy, and I began to say out loud, “God already has something, or someone, in motion to meet me at an intersection.” That word sank deep. It reminded me that while I’m worrying about the “when”, God is working out the “who, the how, and the why”.
I thought about Abraham and Sarah. God promised them a son, but they waited twenty-five long years before Isaac was born. If Isaac had come earlier, right when they wanted, he wouldn’t have been in place to meet Rebekah, because she wouldn’t have even been born yet. The timing wasn’t just about Abraham and Sarah; it was about generations being positioned.
And think about Joseph. If he hadn’t been sold into slavery, falsely accused, and thrown into prison, he wouldn’t have been standing in Pharaoh’s palace when famine hit his family back home. What looked like delay was really direction.
Or consider Esther. If she had been born just a few years earlier or later, she wouldn’t have been in the palace “for such a time as this.” (Esther 4:14) Every detail of her story, from her upbringing to her crown, was perfectly synchronized with God’s plan to save His people.
Even Jesus came “in the fullness of time” (Galatians 4:4). Heaven wasn’t late; it was waiting for the perfect intersection of prophecy, place, and purpose.
So, if it feels like God’s taking His time, remember, He’s not just aligning your blessing, He’s aligning every person, place, and piece connected to it. The right people must be in position. The right doors must be open. The right hearts must be ready.
The Bible says, “For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.” (Habakkuk 2:3 KJV)
You’re not waiting in vain. You’re waiting for divine alignment. And when your appointed time arrives, it’ll make sense why it couldn’t come any sooner. Keep trusting. Keep believing. Something’s already in motion, and it’s heading right toward you.
Prayer:
Lord, thank You for reminding me that Your timing is perfect, even when I can’t see it. Help me trust that You’re aligning every detail for my good. I don’t want to rush ahead or lose faith while waiting. I believe that what You’ve promised will meet me at the appointed time, right on schedule, just like You planned. Amen.
