The heart must be kept in specific ways. It must be totally surrendered to God. Then, diligence must be saturated with the Word of God because sinful actions begin in the heart.

"Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee." (Psalm 119:11).

We have a challenge to meet. The challenge is with all diligence (watchfulness), keep thou heart. When the heart goes down, the total man goes down. Keep thou heart with all that you have (all of your strength, before all else). Guard your heart! Guard it for your life (eternal life). Do not make any provisions for evil.

Satan sets a constant watch on the heart. And, if he can get a piece of the action, he can regain some lost ground. He works with a heart that is not settled, one that is half-stepping.
