Lobias Murray Christian Academy

As Lobias Murray Christian Academy begins its 25th year anniversary celebration, the school prides itself in providing parents in the Dallas/Ft. Worth metropolis a choice alternative for the educating their children.

Founded in 1979, by the Rev. Lobias and Mrs. Shirley Murray, pastor and wife of Full Gospel Holy Temple Church, the academy has distinguished itself as the only 12 grade accredited, African-American owned private school in the state.

Accredited by Texas Education Agency and Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS), the academy is scenically located at 330 Ann Arbor in South Oak Cliff. The unique blend of academics, recreation and moral ethics is what makes Lobias Murray Christian Academy a favorite among students, parents and faculty. The focus of the academy's curriculum is a core foundation steeped in college preparatory training.

In addition to mastering basic courses, LMCA students are afforded the opportunity to choose from a variety of elective courses such as: computer science, foreign language, journalism, typing, music, computer math, anatomy, calculus and speech/drama. The school's diverse curriculum exposes students to a variety of cultural, educational, historical and recreational learning activities.

Competitive in spirit, students frequently enter scholastic competitions in both public and private school organizations.

Campus organizations, special assemblies and the close-knit bond of student life, make the school not only unique, but a trendsetter in its own right.

The personnel makeup of the academy is comprised of one administrator, 18 teachers, one counselor, and four support personnel. We recently added a state of the art gymnasium. The gymnasium contains six basketball goals, extra classrooms, three volleyball courts, bleachers, and a scoreboard. The Lobias Murray Christian Academy offers affordable tuition.
